1-2-3 Scrapbook Layout - May 2017
Hello friends! I'm finally back with the 1-2-3 sketch, layout and video for May!
If you're not familiar with my 1-2-3 Layouts, they use just 1 piece of double sided patterned paper, 2 pieces of Cardstock (or CM Album Pages) for the base, and we make the entire layout with just 3 cuts. Each month I give provide you with a free printable with the sketch, cutting guide and a sample finished layout for inspiration. You can download, print it and follow along with it to create a great two page layout. This month's sketch has room for five photos, journaling, title and embellishments, but you can use more (or less!) photos to suit your needs. Here's the sketch for this month:
To create the layout, I'm using the fun travel-themed Gallivant collection from Creative Memories. This collection is perfect for documenting all your travels - from road trips to round-the-world trips! And even though its a travel collection, many of the tone-on-tone papers will work well for everyday and masculine themes, too. I'm working with the papers, embellishments and stickers, but there is also a coordinating foiled album cover and Fast2Fab refill pages in the collection. I'm using a double sided patterned paper that has a green and navy diamond pattern on one side, and a monochromatic navy arrow pattern on the other side. So take a break, relax for a few minutes and sit back to see how fast this eye-catching layout comes together!
The 1-2-3 process is so fast that after making the cuts when I filmed the video, it only took about another 15 minutes to complete the rest of the layout. I added two border stickers above and below the strip of photos and I love how the arrowheads on those stickers direct your eye across the layout! Since some of the other stickers I wanted to use were a bit small, I mounted them on circles punched from the thicker slide-in cards from the collection, then popped them off the surface of the layout with Foam Squares. I created the simple title with the Gold ABC/123 Stickers, and then wrote my journaling with the Black Dual-Tip Pen to complete the layout. Here's a closer look at the finished layout and a few of the details:
All the products shown can be purchased on my CM website, and don't forget to download your FREE copy of the sketch and cutting guide here so that you can refer to it as you create your own version of the layout. I always love seeing what you create with these sketches, so please feel free to share it on my Facebook Group page or leave a comment below!
Happy Scrapping!
