52: White + One

Got 15 minutes? A few photos? White cardstock plus one other color? Then you can create a quick and easy layout. YES! IN 15 MINUTES!

This weeks Creative Prompt is to Use White + One Other Color.

White + One is a great formula for creating a super fast and easy scrapbook page. Pick a color that works with your photos, and if you do add any extra embellishments (stickers, punched shapes etc.) make sure that they are in that single color as well. Super fast scrapbooking is about making quick decisions and eliminating those seemingly agonizing choices about which color papers and embellishments to use! You simply can't go wrong with this approach.

I had some photos I snapped of my son having fun in a ball pit. Although I loved the bright colors, I knew that using a lot of patterned paper would be overwhelming with these photos, so this formula worked especially well.  I used yellow as my plus-one color to complement the color of the balls:

I used the Creative Memories Grip and Clip and Jumbo Wavy Square pattern to trim and shape the edges of the four photos AND the background piece of solid yellow cardstock. Here is a short video showing how the Grip and Clip works:

I adhered the photos and their yellow background to my white cardstock base, then made a quick title with some very old CM letter stickers in yellow (yup...let's use up that stash!) I journaled on the side with the Black Dual Tip Pen and then added a few black stitching lines and borders around the letters.

DONE.
In 15 Minutes.
Yup.

It's not the most decorative page ever, but, hey, if I want to capture and record lots of everyday moments for my family, then I have to use my time wisely and GET PAGES DONE. Besides...the beauty lies in the photos and the stories, right?

Hope you give it a try...you'll love how quick it is!

Happy Scrapping!
