Summer Scrapbook Series Week 6 - Mixed Media & Memorabilia
This week during our Summer Scrapbook Series we're talking about how to add a little variety to our scrapbook pages by incorporating ephemera and memorabilia, as well as playing with fun and easy mixed media techniques! There are some cool ideas over on the facebook page, so make sure to head over, check them out and add your ideas to the comments! What I'm really excited to share with you here are three easy techniques to create original mixed media backgrounds on your scrapbook pages.
You might know about mixed media and have been wanting to give it a try, or you might be thinking "mixed whaaaat?" Well, simply put, mixed media is using a variety of art materials such as paints, inks, crayons and markers to add interest and variety to your project. Most of us use papers, photos, pens and a few embellishments on our scrapbook pages but never venture further than that because we don't know how to use the materials or what they will look like. So, I put together a video showing you how to use 3 different media - watercolor paints, markers and spray ink - to create SUPER EASY and inexpensive backgrounds for your scrapbook layouts. Take a look!
Hopefully you got a good look at some of the detail shots, but in case the video was going too fast here's a closer look at all of the layouts as well as links to the materials used.
Note: While you can shop for all CM products on my CM website anytime, right now you can receive $12.00 off your order with the code THANKS12 (Valid until 3:00 pm ET August 13th 2017) Enjoy!
Which of these mixed media techniques is your favorite? Which are you planning on trying? I hope you give them a whirl and share your results on the Facebook page using the hashtag #OCMMixed!
Happy scrapping!
