Winter Blog Hop with Creative Life Scrapbooking!

Hello! Welcome to the Winter Blog Hop with team members from Creative Life Scrapbooking! We are excited to share some winter-themed projects with you today and warm you up with a little inspiration to get you through these cold days! I'm starting the hop today and at the end of my post I'll be sending you along your way to all the other stops!

What better collection to use for a Winter Blog Hop than the Glacier Collection from Creative Memories? Specifically, I'll be focusing on giving you some fresh new ideas on how you can use the Glacier Variety Mat Pack (or any slide-in cards for that matter!) in layouts and other projects.

All of CM's Variety Mat Packs feature twelve double sided 4" x 6" cards, and twelve double sided 4.5" x 6.5" cards which coordinate perfectly with the paper and embellishments in the same collection. Obviously they are great for matting photos and journaling on, but I use them for so much more. Watch this video to see five wonderful ways I like to use them!

Here's a closer look at each one of the uses:

#1 - Pocket Scrapbooking Pages. The cards are great for divided pocket pages - just slide them into the openings along with some pictures and you have a fast and easy layout! Add journaling, or even some embellishments for a personal touch. I've used the 11" x 14" Pocket Pages that fit the Pocket Albums (formerly known as PicFolios), and the 12" x 12" Multi-Pocket Pages that fit perfectly into your traditional scrapbook albums. You can also use these cute cards in the 13" x 9" Pocket Pages and the new Peekaboo Pockets!

#2 - Trim down cards to use the word art or decorative images for titles and enhancements on your traditional pages. This is great when you need a title or a little extra design feature! Bonus tip: Punch coordinating shapes to use as embellishments from the leftover card scraps!

#3 - Trim down cards to use the word art or decorative images on the fronts of standard size greeting cards. Or. score, fold or cut apart the larger cards into cute gift cards and gift tags.

#4 - Add to planners for an extra dose of color and fun. Use a hole punch or a punch designed specifically for your planner to punch the edge of a card and insert it into your planner binding to use as a To-Do list, bookmark or just as an inspirational visual!

#5 - Frame a 4" x 6" card for cute and easy home decor. Choose one that matches the colors in your home, or change it out for each season and holiday!

I hope you got a little inspiration on some wonderful ways you can use up those slide-in mat cards in your stash. Leave a comment below as to which one you plan to try!

Now make sure to hop on over to see the rest of the winter-themed projects from the team!

Happy Scrapping!
