Cricut Holiday Frames and Tags Cartridge #1
Oooh...three weeks since I last posted. Yikes - so sorry! I was busy getting ready for our Winter Retreat that we held this past weekend in Canmore Alberta. 43 ladies attended and we had such a good time scrapbooking, and creating cards, gifts and tags for Christmas! Although the road conditions were a bit worrisome, it was truly a Winter Wonderland with all the snow! Can't wait for our spring retreat next May! (If you are interested in attending one our retreats, watch our Calgary Crops blog for registration details!)
Now that the retreat is over, I can share a bunch of ideas with you just in time for Christmas! For the next few days I'll be talking about a great new Cricut Cartridge exclusive to CM - Holiday Frames and Tags.
I love all the exclusive Creative Memories Cricut Cartridges - they are a must-have for me since they coordinate with all various CM paper collections - but when this new cartridge launched along with all the other products in the Nov/Dec mini I couldn't wait to play with the new images and features, including some 3D items which are a first for a CM cartridge! Here's a look at some of the images as well as the three fonts:
Even though the cartridge is called Holiday Frames and Tags, it's not only a Christmas cartridge. It does coordinate with some of the images in the Nordic collection and my favorite tag does feature a snowflake, but the tags are adaptable for any holiday year round by choosing different papers and color combinations. And, you can make a sweet Pillow Box or Favour Box along with lots of different styles of envelopes which add a little extra to your card or gift. Here are a couple of sample projects featured in the mini-catalog:
As soon as I opened it I wanted to make the favour box. I chose a piece of Nordic paper and the Fit to Page option on my Cricut before I cut as this would give me the biggest version of the favour box (it made a 2 3/4 inch base).
The box is easy to assemble - once it's cut, simply follow the marks and score along the four edges to make the bottom of the box.
Fold up each side and place the slotted ends over the rounded ends to close.
It's so very cute as it is, but I wanted to use the new Nordic Stamps to make a tag cluster. Here's how..
LOVE IT!!! I plan on making a bunch of them for table favours for Christmas dinner...they are the perfect size for a little after-dinner box of chocolates!
This cartridge is definitely a must-have addition to your Cricut library! Make sure to order yours before the December 9th holiday shopping deadline so you'll have time to make some of these cute items for Christmas!
I'll be back tomorrow to share a few tags created with the cartridge, so make sure to drop by!
(PS...If you are looking for a Christmas themed Cricut cartridge, be sure to check out the 'Tis the Season cartridge. It is now on While Supplies Last, so when they're gone, they're gone for good!)

- Stamp the "No Peeking" and the "Present" images onto some cream cardstock (without the outside red ring) and punch them out with large circle on the Circle Maker.
- Punch a cream tag with the Tag Maker and stamp just the "To/From" image on it.
- Dab Olive Chalking Ink around the edges of the circles and tags
- Punch small holes in the circles, tags AND the top of the favour box and tie it all together with some ribbon, hemp or yarn.
